We had to wait a few months, but once the devices came, the excitement truly escalated. After spending about a week with my field tech, other Ed Techs on my team, and a few of my teachers the devices and charging stations were ready for the classrooms! It was extremely important that through all the excitement that teachers became acquainted with not only their Chromebooks, but also to examine what digital tools would benefit their students. Module 102, Digital Tools for Communication, and Module 105, Digital Citizenship, came to the rescue.
It was important to not only teach the teachers how to use their Chromebooks, but to also make it a lesson that would be fun and engaging. I designed a "Chromebook Scavenger Hunt" to acquaint my teachers with their new devices, but also one they could use with their students. My teachers not only loved this activity, but they also used with their students to introduce the devices to the students.
After introducing the students to the Chromebooks, the next lesson was to teach them how to be good citizens. Our teachers were tasked with putting together a Google Slideshow that they would present to their students. As you can see below, they were awesome, and they also learned a little about collaborating on a Google Slideshow!
